Intro chapters

Reading the beginig of the prologue I am very amazed at how in a span of 1 year we see the history and creation of the universe and within a minute we see that the first humans appeared. Homo Sapiens were created within the last minutes of the last day of December nearly 2.7 million years ago.
But for being in existance shorter than other animals we have seen the most growth and evolution of all species. We have shown to be more adaptable to learning new things, can create and build things, and have impacted the world in different ways. The Paleolithic age accounts for around roughly 95% of our human history which is amazing as that is only in reality 250,000 years. We started as out as slow footed and small to the different types of people we have today. In chapter 1 I was amazed to read that there is a group of people that model their community after the old gatherer hunters as they traveled to different places within their region to farm and grow their fruits and vegetables. Also I don't remember learning that the first 150,000 years we as a species were mostly in Africa. The first remnants of early human history was found there in things such as buried tools, fossil remains of hunted animals, and more. But as we know in history today humans grew curious and started to migrate to different places of the world which is why we are living almost everywhere in the world today. Society in the past was vastly different than we would think of it today as the max size was around 50 people. It was a very tight knit community where everyone had a deep relationship with each other. Our earlier versions of humans were gatherer hunters and traveled quite a bit so they had no time to build a permanent home. Because of that most people within the group were only working for a couple hours a day since their only job is to farm which left them with lost of free time in which they socialized. Around 16,000 years ago we saw the first ever natural global warming event that is similair to the event happening now but is not caused by human interaction with the environment. Because of this global warming nomadic people were able to settle down and not travel as much because everyhting was right in front of them.
